Welcome To The Fairy Dog Mama

Sometimes dog owners feel stuck and they can’t find convenient, knowledgeable, safe R+ coverage in their local area. Maybe someone like yourself wants a more personal touch than traditional dog sitting and care. I created the Fairy Dog Mama to give all animals safe, comfortable, force-free options in the comfort of their own space! I have created a team (who have completed Pet First Aid and various Dog Knowledge education courses) to help people and their animals enjoy both their everyday lives and vacations away. Even if your dog has been labeled aggressive or anxious, our team has special training and education to help your dog feel their best, on their walks and in their homes.

All dogs deserve their own Fairy Dog Mama.

Step 3

Your assigned Fairy will meet with you and your pets at your home. During this meeting, along with getting to know you and your pet, we will go over their specific needs and any training plan set in place by your Force-Free trainer.

Our Approach

Our dog walkers & sitters are educated and certified through The Pet Professional Guild and the Shock-Free Coalition, Fear Free Pets, and each team member has completed Pet First Aid courses. We are proud to have a high level of expertise and understanding of scientifically based Force-Free, R+ positive reinforcement training methods, so your pet can receive quality care.

Flexible & Communicative

You can't always predict a crazy day at work, but you can anticipate your dog's needs. Instead of rushing home at lunch, book a dog walker to give your dog or cat the attention and exercise they require. We provide per visit updates and we’re flexible to work around your busy life.

Our History

& Dogs

Courtney Faulkner, the Founder and Operator of Fairy Dog Mama began working in the pet care industry in 2013. She was working at a positive reinforcement based daycare in North Vancouver and found working with dogs that had physical, mental, and emotional difficulties very rewarding.

After getting to know these dogs and their families from the daycare, Courtney soon discovered that there was a need for better care for these animals in their homes, and on the trails. She began providing private walks and live-in care for the dogs she had cared for in the Daycare, and she soon founded the Fairy Dog Mama in 2016.

The Fairy Dog Mama began to expand from North Vancouver to West Vancouver. By only servicing North and West Vancouver, this allowed her to have a better amount of availability for her clients and service more dog families at once.

Still as of today, Courtney and Fairy Dog Mama is on a mission to provide all dogs a safe option for their specific needs, with a force free, compassionate approach, always.
